Contractor Vetting

What we check before a contractor joins the network

Documentation we require

Before any contractor receives referrals through SLYDE N RESTORE, we require proof of applicable state licensing (where the trade requires it) and active general liability insurance. We monitor customer feedback on an ongoing basis and can remove a contractor from the network based on it.

What this is not

This is a documentation and ongoing-feedback check, not a guarantee of workmanship, a background check, or a bond. We recommend confirming license and insurance status directly with any contractor before work begins — see the checklist below.

What to ask before work begins
  • Ask to see their state license (where your trade requires one) and proof of active general liability insurance directly — don't rely on a referral alone.
  • Ask for a written scope of work and quote before any work begins, not just a verbal estimate.
  • Ask whether they bill your insurance company directly or require you to pay and submit for reimbursement.
  • Ask what standard they use to confirm drying or remediation is complete (e.g., moisture readings, clearance testing) before rebuilding.
  • Ask for an estimated start date and completion timeline in writing.
  • Ask whether contents cleaning, storage, or pack-out is included in the quote or billed separately.
Coverage Data

What "we have contractor connections here" means

What coverage language means

When a location page says we have contractor connections in an area, it means our records show at least one restoration contractor serving that market as of the date this page was last updated. It is not a real-time availability guarantee — contractor capacity changes day to day, especially during widespread events like a hurricane or regional storm.

How often it's reviewed

Coverage data is reviewed periodically as the contractor network grows. If no contractor is immediately available in your exact area when you submit a request, we'll let you know rather than leave you waiting.
